Texas National Stock Show
FAQ

IS THE SHOW TERMINAL?

NO, none of our shows are terminal

IS THE SHOW OPEN ONLY TO TEXAS EXHIBITORS?

NO. The Texas National Stock Show is a nationwide show open to the entire USA.

DO MY PIGS HAVE TO BE TEXAS VALIDATED?

NO. This is a national show open to the entire USA. We are not a Texas Sanctioned Show so no validation required.

DO I HAVE TO BLEED MY PIGS?

ALL GILTS 6 MONTHS OF AGE OR OLDER MUST BE BLED FOR AND VACCINATED FOR LEPTO. All pigs must meet the TAHC (Texas Animal Health Commission) regulations for an interstate show. These regulations are posted on our website. As it stands now gilts (over 6 month of age) must be bled, but not barrows or gilts under 6 months of age. All need an Official ID tag (840 tag or Texas tag) and a CVI.

DO WE HAVE TO ENTER INDIVIDUALLY?

NO, you can enter 1 exhibitor (put NAME), multiple exhibitors in a family name (SMITH FAMILY). Put group (SMITHVILLE FFA) and purchase the number of pigs you wish to enter. When you fill your online weight card (available by logging into your account 2 days prior the show.) you can sort out the exhibitor names at that time. Trying to make things easier!

DO YOU HAVE TO PHYSICALLY BE ON THE SHOW GROUNDS WHEN WEIGHT CARDS ARE TURNED IN?

NO. We know a lot of county shows and other shows in Texas are happening around the same time as our show and we want to offer the maximum flexibility to accommodate you. You will turn your entries in on the Showman App. JUST MAKE SURE AND SHOW UP IN TIME FOR YOUR CLASS. If you need help checking in, just come to the blue tent for help.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER IN WICHITA FALLS IN JANUARY?

VARIABLE. It's usually clear and in the 50's during the day and about freezing at night, but winter storms do come through that last 2-3 days. Please be prepared for cold weather.

WHEN DO I TURN IN MY REGISTRATION PAPERS?

You show your purebred registration papers when at check in.
